It was an exclusive ‘heli wedding’ any guests would have been honoured to be a part of.
Elizabeth Barnes and Milad Kruze treated their truly nearest and dearest to a trip of a lifetime for their elopement. The Melbourne pair, aged 33 and 34, decided to represent their love of travel and hiking by marrying in the mountains of New Zealand’s South Island on May 1, 2015. “We, along with four loved ones, flew into Queenstown from around the world in the days leading up to the wedding,” explains Elle.
The couple put a lot of love and energy into making the elopement journey a treat for everyone along for the ride. “We had exclusively booked Wanaka Haven lodge so our guests were comfortable and could enjoy their New Zealand holiday in luxury,” says the bride. “Every detail was laid out on handcrafted itineraries coupled with New Zealand themed welcome bags ready for their arrival.”
Two helicopters delivered the couple and their guests atop of Coromandel Peak, where the lake below created a mirror for dramatic photos, describes Elle. “After the ceremony, the helicopters took everyone over to Isobel Glacier for more photos and spectacular scenery,” she smiles. “Back at the lodge, the group enjoyed a four-course dinner with local wines carefully selected by me and prepared by a private chef.”

Limos aren’t the only way to make an entrance on your wedding day!

Views nothing short of breathtaking created an epic backdrop for this couple’s photos.

“It was a perfect elopement, made all the better through sharing it with those we love the most,” says Elle.

Milad and I opted to have a hand blessing instead of exchanging rings,” says the bride of their earlier ceremony.
