Lisa Boron and Robbie Dodd turned their wedding celebration into a week-long tropical holiday for themselves and family and friends.
In the lead-up to and after their Koh Samui wedding, the couple spent some laid-back time with their guests on the stunning Thai island.
“We spent the week in Koh Samui celebrating our hens and bucks party, our wedding and a post-wedding island boat cruise, creating special memories for years to come,” Lisa, 30, says.
Lisa and Robbie, 32, held their destination wedding at Melati Beach Resort and Spa on March 23, 2016, in front of 44 friends and family.
The Perth pair say their wedding day was relaxed and full of laughs and dancing.
“After a chilled day of preparations we had our ceremony in the beautiful gardens, followed by canapes and cocktails on the beach, and a sit-down reception at the View restaurant with the most delicious banquet,” Lisa says.
“We were lucky enough to have chosen some of the best wedding vendors in South East Asia. The Melati Resort created the most perfect wedding day for us, which was far beyond our expectations.
Lisa says they don’t regret a second of their destination wedding.
“Having a destination wedding was the best decision we have made that allowed us to have a relaxed day,” she says.
“We look back on our wedding day with the biggest smiles and gratitude that we really did have a wedding we only dreamed of.”

Beautiful bride Lisa added a touch of sparkle with accessories from Fletcher and Grace.

“We wanted our wedding to be a relaxed celebration with delicious food and drinks and no tuxes or ball gowns in sight!” Lisa says.

Lisa and Robbie met after Robbie temporarily moved to Perth to finish his graduate program. Three years later he popped the question on his family’s farm in South Australia.

“Our wedding was the perfect tropical celebration which brought together our family and friends across the country in beautiful Koh Samui that represented our relationship – unique, bright, fun and relaxed,” Lisa says.
