Monochromatic style combined with quirky touches at Michelle and Chad’s classic wedding.
“When it came to planning our wedding, we both wanted it to be fun and as stress-free as possible,” Michelle says.
The Melbourne pair chose The Ivory in leafy Elsternwick, a suburb over from the St Kilda bar where they had their first date, for their classic wedding on November 1, 2019.
“We didn’t get too caught up in little details and we both wanted our guests to have fun,” the bride says.
“Our colour scheme was monochromatic with the boys in charcoal and the girls in black. Our flowers were simple white and champagne.”
The pair injected plenty of fun and personality into the day, with their love of all things Disney and DC Comics shining through.
The bride sported a glittery pair of Chuck Taylors under her traditional wedding gown, matching the groom and groomsmen’s black sneakers.
The men sported DC Comic-themed buttonholes and even the table centrepieces and cake got the Disney treatment.
“It was exactly as we wanted,” Michelle says.

Michelle was every inch the Disney princess at her classic wedding, complete with a subtle tiara.

Michelle made the perfect entrance, opting for a shiny muscle car as her wedding transport.

“We met three years ago and had our first date at a bar in St Kilda, where Chad was living at the time,” Michelle recalls. “I was working in regional Victoria but we would spend every weekend together and after a year of living apart I moved in with Chad.”

After they had purchased their first home, Chad popped the question one Saturday night. “We had a pool table and he had placed the ring in there for me to find. It was completely unexpected but a really nice surprise,” Michelle says.
