It was such a big day for this bride’s ‘big day’ that she had to take a nap before the reception.
But rewind a little first, to when Gamillah Dib, 21, met Ahmad Moubayed, 25, through a mutual friend. A proposal soon followed on Gamillah’s birthday, in front of Sydney Harbour. “It was a summer night and just so perfect,” smiles the bride.
The Lebanese pair didn’t muck about, starting wedding planning the following weekend. Bomboniere were found immediately and the Skarr gown was the first Gamillah tried on. They married at their Sydney wedding on February 2, 2015 in front of 400 guests.
“I didn’t sleep much the night before,” says Gamillah. “I was so nervous. Ahmad came in the morning to pick me up from home with the drums – it was embarrassing but so much fun,” she laughs. After the ceremony the couple had photos in the city’s Martin Place and Angel Place.
“After that we headed to the reception and my feet were killing me,” says Gamillah. “I ended up having a nap on the way there.” Their reception at Parravilla function centre, Parramatta, was elegantly styled with gold and white. “It’s amazing to find someone who can turn your world completely upside down,” the bride says of her groom.

The bride bought all of her own accessories but forgot to put them on!
Ahmad’s modern attire was hired from Formal Image.

“I can sit here and write for days,” says Gamillah when asked what she loves about her groom.
