I’m in wonder of the raw emotion captured in these beautiful wedding photos by Squint Photography. A self-confessed “daddy’s girl,” 26-year-old Lauren Coppinger knew the moment her dad first caught a glimpse of her on the big day would be special. She says, “When I turned around, my dad just looked so proud, and so happy, and I think it really hit him that his little girl would soon be married. The moment was perfect and I’ll never forget it.” Lauren and her high school sweetheart Chris Camporeale, 27, first started dating when they were just 15 years old at Perth’s Corpus Christi College. “Best friends” first and foremost, Lauren attributes their longevity to always being “fair, honest and supportive of each other”. “We’ve never been the sort of couple to live out of each other’s pockets,” she says. “We have always remained our own person without losing sight of our identity.” She adds, “We’ve shared lots of special moments over the years and lots of life milestones too but a highlight for me was when Chris surprised me in LA halfway into a five month adventure travelling around the world with my best friend. [It was] right before my birthday and to this day I have no idea how he pulled it off without me finding out.” After 11 years these WA lovebirds said ‘I do’ in front of 180 guests at St Patrick’s Basilica in Fremantle followed by a modern romantic wedding reception at Fraser’s Kings Park. |

“The bouquets consisted of premium roses, spray roses, lisianthus and carnations,” says Lauren. “Lauren and Kerry from Blossom & Bloom were delightful and had some really great ideas.”

“I’ve always loved lilac,” says Lauren of her Paco bridesmaids’ dresses. “It’s a soft, elegant and romantic colour which was exactly the look I wanted for my bridesmaids.”

“Being married at the basilica was incredibly special to us,” explains Lauren. “Chris’s father was an altar boy there when he was younger, his parents were married there and he was baptised there.”

Lauren’s gown was a Pronovias strapless lace design purchased at Samantha Wynne. “Samantha’s store was the only one I went to and she was brilliant throughout the whole process.”

“About halfway through the reception a good friend told me to go out onto the balcony and that Chris was already out there,” says Lauren. “She said that this was our 15 minutes and to cherish every second. We spent that time talking about the day and watching everyone dancing inside from the balcony. Everyone will tell you on the big day to try and find some time together to soak it all in and I never knew until that moment how important that was.”
