Erin Moorehead and Jonathan Hopkins sure do, it’s how their relationship blossomed in the naughties, after meeting through local football and netball. “I knew many years ago that he was the man of my dreams and I guess I just had to wait around for him to gather the courage to ask,” smiles Erin.
The Cowra, NSW locals, aged 24 and 27 respectively, had an easy strategy for choosing their wedding date, January 25, 2015. “Jono picked the wedding date as it coincided with being two years to the day that he proposed,” explains Erin. “It also meant that our guests had Australia Day the next day to recover.”
Erin has made special mention of all her “amazing” suppliers, which she sourced locally in country New South Wales. “When planning the wedding we tried to keep suppliers local and went with a simple, elegant colour scheme of blue and grey,” she says. “I had charms made to hang on my bouquet with photos of my nan, auntie and Jono’s grandfather who have all passed away, in order to keep our loved ones’ memories alive.”
The couple were married at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Kogarah, south of Sydney, and celebrated with 100 guests for a classic waterfront wedding reception at St George Motor Boat Club.

“Our wedding day was truly everything i had ever dreamed it would be and was the fairytale my inner Disney-princess desired,” says Erin.
